Each year approximately 225,000 people will be diagnosed with lung cancer. Each year approximately 50,000 of all new cases will be adults under the age of 40. The 5-year survival rate is around 17%. More than half of patients with lung cancer will die within a year of diagnosis.

Uniting Against Lung Cancer (UALC) is dedicated to funding innovative research and raising awareness to find a cure for lung cancer.

UALC is funding lung cancer research with the potential to make a significant impact on treatment and a cure. Since 2003, UALC has awarded over $11.5 million to academic investigators, leading to over $55 million in follow-on funding, new researchers entering the field, and scientific progress that is already impacting lung cancer patients. Guided by a renowned Medical Committee, UALC is funding research that makes a difference.
